" IT'S BEEN LIFE CHANGING IN SUCH A SHORT AMOUNT OF TIME "
Millie Shuttlewood
Millie dreamt of competing but never worked towards her goal, due to her own limiting beliefs. This was until one day when she shared her goal with a friend who encouraged Millie to do it!
Before Millie fell into the cycle of yo-yo and restrictive dieting, with no control over her diet and training and gained a lot of weight during lockdown. A lot has changed since Millie decided to join Team LRF and started prep to compete
A life changing experience...
“I knew I loved training and nutrition but before I didn’t have the guidance or trust in the process. Having a coach enabled me to trust and enjoy the process without the worry. Cheesy as it sounds, it’s been life changing in such a short amount of time. I love a challenge and being pushed to the limits and that’s exactly what my coach does. Mentally (and physically) I’m stronger and with that I've ever been”
Millie’s progress so far..
“At the start we went through a cut (Nov-Feb). Lost 20lbs, got back to a comfortable weight (got rid of lockdown weight). Then we reversed diet and gradually increased food (Feb-June) and gained around 4/5kg.
Currently I am 6.5 weeks out from my first show and have lost just over 6kg (and we’re still
working).
In terms of mindset I am so much stronger and relaxed. I have such an appreciation and love for the sport. The dedication and time spent everyday makes me feel proud but also wanting to be the best version of me that I can be”

The challenges...
“The first challenge was the initial weight gain. Seeing the numbers go up and eating so much food was hard to get my head around. Coach always reassured me that this would be beneficial to me during prep (Of course she wasn’t wrong and I am thankful for that).
Second would be now. First prep will be my greatest challenge but one I’m enjoying. Coach is guiding me through everything, even the emotional wobbles. So I can’t complain.
Lessons learned...
“I learned how to execute every exercise properly. To not only focus on just the weight but the form too. I have better self belief - If my coach thinks I can do it even when I doubt myself, I trust her and get it done to the best of my ability.
I also learned to trust the process. Before being coached, I never trusted others when it came to my weight, seeing my progress, food etc. Now I literally give her all power.
